There are great challenges faced by teachers in the current scenario, which significantly impact pedagogical practice. And so, the need to find alternatives to qualify teaching that are aligned with contemporary social reality arises. Promoting research at school plays a crucial role in developing knowledge, promoting learning and improving students' critical skills, which brings significant benefits to students, educators and the educational system as a whole. This study analyzed the perceptions and integration of school research into the pedagogical practice of teachers at a state public school, regarding a training process, supported by the methodological contribution of action research. Those involved highlight research as fundamental for the reconstruction of knowledge, integrated into teaching practice, and the potential in the development of educational practice, allowing the identification of demands and the development of action plans. Promoted teacher improvement, training them in teaching practices aligned with the needs of the school context and encouraging critical reflection on their pedagogical approaches.
