Abstract

The objective of this research aims to analyze what characterizes a vulnerable woman, what types of vulnerability may exist in the female universe and what factors lead women to remain vulnerable. The study analyzed women's role in the job market and female entrepreneurship as a strategic tool for vulnerable women. The method used was bibliographical research with a qualitative approach and exploratory nature, based on scientific studies and data on vulnerable women who are financially dependent, women's role in the job market and the role of entrepreneurship as a tool to generate income and achieve financial independence. The results point to an unprecedented meeting on the twelve types of female vulnerability, the significant number of women in this reality with negative consequences, including an increase in the rate of feminicide, even in a context in which women seek more knowledge and development of skills and competencies through through higher education, but which does not imply salaries compatible with those of men nor does it contribute to the reduction in the number of women in a vulnerable state. It was also found that entrepreneurship, despite being mostly accessed out of necessity, is a path to generating income and female financial independence.
