This work aimed to analyze anthroponyms in Libras, precisely, signs that name famous people, based on the taxonomy proposed by Barros (2018). According to this taxonomy, anthroponyms in Libras can be of four main types, namely, those resulting from (1) borrowings from a spoken language, or referring to (2) physical; (3) behavioral or (4) social aspects of the named individual. Each of these categories, in turn, encompasses different subcategories. For example, anthroponyms that refer to social aspects are subdivided into those relating to a person's profession, a notable event or a person's origin. The 132 anthroponyms analyzed here were collected from the ED Libras YouTube channel. Its classification in terms of the categories and subcategories proposed by Barros (2018) was carried out and stored in an Excel spreadshit, which is part of Microsoft's Office package. The results obtained show a higher frequency of anthroponyms related to social aspects or resulting from a combination of more than one of the four categories proposed by Barros (2018).
