In this text, I present the process I have been carrying out with undergraduate, graduate, master's and doctoral students, which involves the production of self-narratives in an attempt to create a singular writing that evokes otherness. I talk to the theorist Bakthin about alterity and singularity, understanding research as the power to become others in a network of affections. I have developed a structural framework for this process, which I have called the orientation ecosystem, in reference to the creation ecosystem developed by Loureiro as a result of his studies on the artistic project. I present the narratives of five people I've mentored and discuss the mentoring ecosystems that have enabled the development of investigations as singular events.
