Abstract

This paper reflects on the phenomenon of nihilism, some of its antecedents in the literary field (Turguénev and Dostoevsky) and its use in the philosophical field.  This happens in order to find a starting point for the use of this term in the epistolary discussion between the German thinkers, Jacobi and Fitche. The first two parts of the article make a context and an analysis of what has been known as nihilism. However, more ambiguity than certainty against the so-called phenomenon of nihilism is observed here. To solve what the first two parts set out, the third moment makes the nihilism phenomenon understanding from the Nietzschean vision clear. Some readings with: The Gaya Science (1985), The Will to Power (2006) and The Twilight of the Idols (2001), are studied to understand that nihilism can be understood as a phenomenon that has led the human being to a logic of the decline that has affected his inhabiting the world, which could have its origin in the idea of the two worlds of Platon.
