This work raises concerns about the low complexity of journalistic work at TV Globo, regarding issues related to urban violence in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, this work will use discourse analysis as a methodology to understand the directions of meaning that the use of the category "involved-with" allows in journalistic texts. That is, based on the chosen category, to dissect the approach of television journalism - focusing on RJTV, first edition - on public security and urban violence, and understand what its consequences are in the social imaginary and subjectivities of the target bodies of this category, whose hypothesis revolves around the impact on access to basic rights of these target bodies, such as life.
