Objectives: To present the assistance and financial impact of an access management model that involved the physiotherapist of the Extended Family Health Center on the Physiotherapy waiting list of 30 Basic Health Units. Methods: Case study conducted in the light of the principles of equity and integrality of care, in the context of 30 basic health units, containing 170 family health teams with 604,772 registered people. Results: Increase in the capillarity of vacancies, which can be evidenced by the reduction of up to 74.2% of the waiting list for physiotherapy and a reduction of up to 67.9% in the average waiting time for care. With regard to financial results, the number of patients who avoided occupying places in rehabilitation services in physical therapy in the time frame of the study resulted in estimated savings of US $ 284,097.75. Conclusions: Financial savings were observed, in addition to increased service capillarity, favoring the most severe patients (high complexity), who previously competed for a physiotherapy wave with other medium and low complexity patients.
