In Latin America, most countries have opted for the model or design of permanent and specialized electoral administration, made up of independent and autonomous electoral bodies or bodies, which have been acquiring greater prominence and greater functions over the years. to the implementation of its different programs, projects and activities. It is precisely to this operation or performance that the so-called “electoral governance” or “governance of the electoral administration” refers. This has to do with the form of government, structure, composition, internal procedures, levels of effectiveness, efficiency, functions, independence, and autonomy of Latin American electoral bodies.
