THE PRESENCE OF ANTHOLOGIES IN THE HIGH SCHOOL BOOK COLLECTION DISTRIBUTED BY THE PNBE (NATIONAL PROGRAM OF SCHOOL LIBRARY)

The main objective of this article is to analyze the presence of anthological works selected by the PNBE (National Program of School Library) in the book collection intended for Brazilian public High Schools, in 2013. The Program is a public policy aimed at literary education that is concerned with reading training and with access to cultural assets. For this research, by using analytical methodology, the object of study is defined as Archive 3, from the PNBE 2013 edition, the last of the Program that meets the demands of Brazilian public High Schools. In the examined material, the anthologies selected by public notice are separated, considering a total of 60 literary works belonging to the book collection distributed to school libraries. Considering this, the study concludes that the anthologies are recognized, and obtain significant space in the referred book collection, giving prestige to authors of Brazilian Literature by bringing together already published texts before the organization of the anthological work.
