Beneath a post-colonial comparative perspective, this essay aims to argue that the Brazilian intellectual Silviano Santiago can be considered the author of the Indo-British intellectual Homi K. Bhabha. This conceptual link becomes possible when we utilize theoretical postulates proposed by the argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges—specifically, his theoretical short story "Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote". In the same vein, the theoretical essay "Silviano Santiago, Author of Derrida" by Brazilian intellectual Eneida Maria de Souza, informed our reflection. Equally important to illustrate the discussion was Silviano Santiago’s own essay, "Eça, Author of Madame Bovary". Despite these theoretical parallels and similarities, it must be noted that the discussion aims to demonstrate that the reading undertaken by Silviano Santiago is situated within the framework of post-colonial theory.
