Based on the novel Mil rosas roubadas (2014) by Silviano Santiago - a writer from Minas Gerais—this essay offers an interpretive reading of the work, focusing on the theme of biographical writing and its relationship to memory. To this end, the analysis centers on a narrative where the theme of friendship drives the novel's development, along with the theoretical and constitutive aspects of the work in question. Our primary interest lies in reflecting on the intersection of literature with other art forms, specifically cinema and music, thereby situating the novel within a contemporary perspective on the Brazilian literary landscape and framing it as an artistic journey.
