global healthAbstract
The article presents three possible future scenarios regarding the nursing workforce in Argentina. The scenario development technique was employed, which included the use of digital tools (MicMac, MACTOR, and Scenario Wizard) for the systematization and analysis of complex variables. The work was carried out in four stages: a) construction of the initial diagnosis, b) identification of key variables, c) definition of initial hypotheses, and d) projection of scenarios. Three future scenarios were constructed: a) “Comprehensive Reconfiguration,” b) “Adaptive Stratification with transition,” and c) “Persistent Fragmentation.” The findings presented here are proposed as a cognitive framework that facilitates critical reflection on the present and future of Argentine nursing in light of the strategic need to strengthen the healthcare system and improve health outcomes for the entire population.
