This article discusses the effects of territorial dynamics fostered by neo-extractivist developmentalism in the Brazilian Amazon, more specifically in the Lower Tocantins region of northeastern Pará. It highlights the complexity and potential of resistance to the biofuel agro-export offensive led by segments of family farmers whose ways of life, unlike colonial plantation-style living, integrate social and environmental demands. In the struggle with the economic agenda of producing primary goods for export, it became clear that communities and organizations, despite political asymmetry, conceive of forms of re-existence in defense of life, territories, and their dignity, manifested in empirically observed conflicts and tensions.
