This study aims to understand the self-perception, challenges, transformations and possible dreams of transgender adolescents/young people with gender variability. The methodology includes exploratory, empirical, descriptive and qualitative research. Twenty transgender adolescents and young people from the states of Tocantins, Pará, Maranhão, Minas Gerais and São Paulo were interviewed. The results revealed that many transgender adolescents/young people have suffered oppression, prejudice, bullying and sexual violence. For many, self-perception of gender occurred in childhood and adolescence and, in many cases, was accompanied by gender dysphoria. They dream of a quality transgendering process and multidisciplinary health care. It is concluded that transgender and/or gender variability adolescents and young people are in situations of extreme vulnerability. In this case, they are subjected to a high level of stress and are subjugated, which leads to the experience of embarrassing situations, oppression, bullying and other forms of violence in the family environment, at school and in other social areas.
