Institutional Racism as a structural mechanism of health inequities among the black population: a literature review

Objective: carry out a critical literature review on the impacts of institutional racism as a structural mechanism that determines health inequities among the black population. Method: bibliographic review. Results: The studies showed that eugenics, together with the influence of necropolitics permeated in society, has contributed to the invisibility of demands, to racial relations of subalternization and has been compromising the access of black men and women to equity. Conclusion: The creation and operation of institutional mechanisms to combat Institutional Racism and the inclusion of discussions on the topic of racism and health and the PNSIPN in health training courses is a way of breaking with care permeated by racism.
