Abstract

This article presents the question of collage from the surrealist perspective of love (Breton), collage as a loving trajectory (Fuão, Barthes), an existential philosophical expression that goes beyond the mere question of technique, procedure, and even representation. Here, collage is associated with the phenomenology of Encounters (Buytendijk) and the ethics of Welcome/Hospitality presented by Emmanuel Levinas and Jacques Derrida. This formulation presents two central figures: the waiting/host and the wandering/guest. The final part of the article presents glue as the metaphorical procedure of welcoming (accueil), the act of welcoming, the singular action of glue, of pasting, and of collage.
