This report describes the trajectory of a 46-year-old patient with metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma who was receiving palliative care in a hospital. The case covers the clinical progression, the symptoms presented, and the interventions performed by the multidisciplinary team. The importance of empathic communication, active listening, and shared decision-making is highlighted, as well as the appreciation of the wishes of the patient and her family. The narrative reinforces that palliative care is not limited to the management of physical symptoms, but encompasses emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions, which enables dignity and meaning in the dying process.
