This study aims to understand the involvement of Guinean women (Guinea Bissau) in informal labor, highlighting its importance for the maintenance of many families and for the socio-economic development of Guinea-Bissau. That's because, in this country, the informal economy has emerged as an essential phenomenon, and it's understood as a resilient reaction of the most underprivileged sections of society, especially women. The study sought to analyze gender relations in their connection with the dynamics of informal labor in Guinea-Bissau. For this reason, it has highlighted the role of 'bideiras' work in the struggle for financial independence and, subsequently, in the fight against illiteracy and the pursuit of higher education for their children. In the context of methodology, a qualitative approach was used, with field work and interviews carried out in different cities in different regions of the country, which allowed an in-depth analysis of the reality of women in the informal sector. The research revealed that the informal work carried out by Guinean women (Guinea-Bissau) plays a fundamental role in Guinea Bissau's development, but is profoundly invisibilized and undervalued, demanding a coordinated effort involving the entire structure of the country (government, companies and civil society organizations). This includes promoting formal and secure employment, strengthening labor regulations, investing in education and vocational training, eliminating gender discrimination and encouraging economic diversification.
