Abstract

The main objective was to find out the perception of the students of the Professional and Technological Master's Degree Program (ProfETP) at a Federal Institute regarding the process of submitting research protocols involving human beings to the CEP on the Brazil Platform and to verify the levels of difficulty they faced in preparing and completing the documents required by the National Research Ethics Commission (Conep) for submitting the research protocol. This was an applied, descriptive study with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The procedures involved bibliographical, documentary and field research, with the application of a questionnaire. The data was analyzed descriptively, followed by a discussion of the results and a comparison with the existing literature. Among some of the results, the research revealed that 98.2% of the students faced difficulties during the process of submitting the research protocol to the CEP on the Brazil Platform. These findings resulted in the development of a Teaching Guide as the final product of the research, with the aim of guiding and assisting researchers and the IFTO academic community in the process of submitting research protocols to the IFTO CEP on the Brazil Platform.
