This research addresses the psychological impacts of parasocial interactions with artificial intelligence on the user's mental health. Parasocial relationships are understood as non-reciprocal socio-emotional connections with media figures such as celebrities, influencers, or fictional characters. Based on this understanding, the study examined how unilateral emotional connections also play a role in this process, such as interactions with artificial intelligence (AI) assistants. Although they lack true emotional reciprocity, these assistants significantly influence the user's mental health, with potential positive and/or negative impacts. The article consists of a bibliographic study that investigated the impact of human-machine interactions on the user's mental health through a review of the existing literature. The study aimed to promote further research in this evolving field, recognizing the need for a deeper understanding. As a growing topic, future studies are necessary to better comprehend this phenomenon and its various consequences for the psychological field.
