Objective: To analyze the trend in the -rates of hospitalizations due mental and behavioral disorders due to alcohol use (CID-10 F10.0) in Brazil and its five regions, between 2010 and 2020. Methods: ecological time series study, with hospitalization data extracted from the Hospital Information System of the Unified Health System. To calculate the trend of hospitalizations, the Prais-Winsten generalized linear regression and the statistical software Stata 14.0 were used. The trend was declining when p<0,05 with a negative regression coefficient. Results: Between 2010 and 2020, there were 423,290 hospitalizations due to mental and behavioral disorders due to alcohol use in Brazil. The analyzed data allowed to observe a declining trend in rates in adults for this cause in Brazil (p<0,001;95%IC -0,094;-0,079) and in all regions for both sexes (p<0,001). Conclusion: There was a reduction in hospitalizations due to mental and behavioral disorders due to alcohol use in Brazil and regions.
