As part of the program of the event Abralin em Cena 16, about Linguistics communication, Kory Stamper was interviewed (in English). An edited version of the interview is published on Abralin's YouTube channel. In the interview, Kory Stamper talks about her experience in popularizing Linguistics as a blogger, writer, podcaster and specialist in a TV series. She thinks about the challenges that each medium offers and alerts the beginner to the administrative work that popularization implies. For Kory Stamper, the desire to communicate with a broader audience is key to popularization. In this kind of communication, the author places himself in the discourse as a mediator between science and the non-specialized audience. Doing this mediation presupposes enthusiasm for Linguistics, to make it reach those who have never had news of this science.
