Systematization about university extension as a process

The article addresses university extension as a process in the context of the University Of Pinar del Río Cuba. The objective was aimed at socializing a reflective - critical approach about the formative nature of university extension based on four pedagogical conceptions, of which their fundamental axes are presented. The study was carried out from the qualitative approach and as fundamental methods were the dialectical-materialist as theoretical, practical and methodological support of the investigation, as well as theoretical as the historical-logical in correspondence with each one of the conceptions directed to the formation for the promotion of reading, the training of promoters of healthy lifestyles, training for the student's extension work and the management of extension in the Teaching Department. The conclusions that are presented, are of a theoretical nature and are generalizable to university and territorial contexts in a general way, they allowed to corroborate the formative nature of the process, given in the transversality, the professionalization, the integral formation, the Teaching Department, as a work cell extensionist and the relations of hierarchy, coordination, subordination between the different university actors.
